Researchers have reported that the latest solar probe has recorded its first light images. The NASA mission, called the Punch Sun, is essentially consisting of four small satellites that are strategically scattered into the Earth’s orbit. These four acts as a tool to solve some of the biggest riddles of the solar system.
“All four satellites operate according to planning,” said Craig Devist at the SWRI Institute in Colorado.
What is seen in these images is the number of stars covered in the form of dim light in the dark sky background in amber.
This beautiful shine is known as “Zodiacal Light”, which is the scattered shine of dust particles that circulate around the sun and reflect the star’s light to the ground.
If you look closely at these stars, some constellations are also visible in the background. However, if everything goes as planned, the future galactic images of the star Punch or even zodiac light will not be seen.
The ultimate goal of these four satellites is to use four of its tools (three WFI (WFI) and a near -NFI field for isolation of features found in the solar wind.
