A technology company called Smart Tire in Ohio, inspired by the NASA method, has produced bicycle tires that never go flat and can be used for a long time.
According to Tekna technology and technology news service, Smart Tire company had invented airless bicycle tires before. This long-life tire was developed in partnership with NASA, and it uses NASA’s method of making rovers.
The tires used in the rolling planet are airless and completely hollow. The reason for this is the impossibility of repairing flat tires on the surface of the moon or Mars.
New tires are not literally airless, they have air in them but are hollow. Also, the air in them will not be under pressure. Also, a spring is placed in the center of each tire, which is made of nickel titanium alloy. This alloy has the elastic state of rubber and changes its shape under pressure and returns to its original shape. With the help of this feature, the new tire can be gently compressed and rebound. In addition, it offers the user a smooth ride like pneumatic tires.
This spring is housed in a poly-rubber material with transparent walls and replaceable tread. The manufacturing company claimed that only half of the system of a normal tire is used in this new tire. Also, despite replacing the tire tread in long kilometers, the original tire has never been replaced and will last until the end of the bike’s life.
