The Canadian province of Ontario held the latest PNP intake on July 13, 2021, inviting foreign workers, international students and job offer holders in rural Ontario.
The Ontario Provincial Immigration Program has invited applicants who have an Expression of Interest profile. These applicants are eligible for one of the two employer job offer immigration routes.
A total of 1,685 invitations have been issued to eligible applicants who have valid profiles in the new Expression of Interest queue. Selected applicants may have one or two employer job offers. And this is the most number of invitations that have been issued so far this year through the Employer Job Offer immigration route. Has not been.
Also, 1211 other invitations have been issued to qualified applicants of the Foreign Worker Stream immigration program. The minimum score of these applicants was 33. It was a general admission and therefore there was no job or place requirement.
On the other hand, a total of 431 other invitations have been issued for International Student Stream applicants. These applicants should have at least 62 points. Ontario’s provincial immigration program has also issued 43 invitations to applicants who were registered in the regional immigration pilot.
If the applicants who received an invitation in this admission are selected by the province of Ontario in the next round of Express Entry, they will definitely be issued an ITA or an invitation to submit an application, because all Express Entry applicants who are strengthened by the provincial immigration program or coordinated with Express Entries are selected and receive 600 additional points.
If the applicants are selected by Ontario, they will automatically receive 600 additional points in the comprehensive ranking system, and in this way, they will definitely receive an invitation to apply for permanent residence in Canada in the next Express Entry admission. This principle applies to any person selected by one of the provincial immigration programs.
Last year, Ontario invited a total of 6,716 Express Entry applicants to apply for provincial selection through the Human Capital Priorities immigration pathway.
About the immigration program Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker
The Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker immigration program is for foreign nationals who have a job offer from an employer in Ontario. As long as the applicant is eligible, there is no need to apply from within Canada.
About Employer Job Offer: International Student
This category is also open to foreign nationals who have received a job offer from an employer in Ontario. It is not necessary for the applicant to be in Canada to be able to apply, he just needs to be eligible.
Among the conditions of this immigration category is that he has studied and graduated from one of the higher education institutions known as DLI; has received a valid job offer in Ontario and intends to immigrate to Ontario.
The applicant must register an EOI profile on the Ontario website. Then his profile enters the waiting queue and he receives a score based on the files he provides. Ontario scores applicants based on human capital factors that determine the applicant’s ability to adapt to the Ontario labor market.
Ontario scoring criteria for immigration applicants
The province of Ontario ranks EOI profiles based on responses. Based on factors such as the skill level of the job for which you have received a job offer and your work experience in Canada, you will be awarded a point. Ontario uses the National System of Occupational Classification, or NOC, for education. The scoring system of the Ontario Provincial Immigration Program varies depending on the immigration route you are applying for. Apart from job skill level and work experience, points are also given to salary, education, language skills and the region where you work or study. The province of Ontario gives up to 10 points to the applicant to meet the needs of the labor market.
What is the Ontario Regional Immigration Pilot?
This pilot has been launched to address labor shortages in some areas of Ontario. In this two-year pilot, 150 quotas have been considered for the above communities. The Ontario Provincial Immigration Program is currently marketing and outreach to local employers and enlisting the support of business service providers. The goal of this new immigration pilot is to connect high-skilled immigrants with Ontario’s rural communities. These areas have been chosen because of the challenges they face in the field of labor and their ability to help settle immigrants.
Employer Job Offer conditions
As the name of this immigration category suggests, the applicant must have a job offer. In order to be eligible for the provincial immigration program, the applicant does not need to be physically present in Canada. The Employer Job Offer category has the following three migration paths:
Foreign Worker stream for skilled labor who need skills in Ontario Job Offer;
International Student stream for international students who have job offers in jobs that require skills;
In-Demand Skills stream for the labor force of sectors that are facing shortage of manpower.
