The IFA exhibition started today in Berlin and will continue until September 5. Honor has introduced two devices in this exhibition, one is the Magic V2 folding phone and the other is the V Purse concept phone. Magic V2 will be introduced in global markets to compete with Galaxy Z Fold 5.
Honor Magic V2 is the thinnest foldable phone with a thickness of 4.7 mm when folded and 9.9 mm when open. The phone is also lighter than the iPhone 14 Pro Max, weighing just 237 grams. Honor claims that this foldable is equipped with an ultra-light titanium hinge that can withstand more than 400,000 folds, which translates to 10 years of use and 100 folds per day. This hinge also allows users to use the phone at different angles. There is also a fingerprint sensor integrated with the power button on the side edge of the phone.
Magic V2 uses a 6.43-inch external display with a resolution of 2376×1060 pixels and a 7.92-inch internal display with a resolution of 2344×2156 pixels. Both are OLED displays made by BOE and have a 120Hz LTPO refresh rate.
On the back panel of this phone, there is a rectangular camera module that includes a 50-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 20-megapixel telephoto camera with 40x zoom. Both internal and external displays have a 16-megapixel selfie camera.
The Magic V2 chip is an overclocked version of the 2nd generation Snapdragon 8, which was previously used in the Samsung Galaxy S23 series and the Red Magic 8S Pro. In addition to this chip, 16 GB of RAM and three memories of 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB are used. The energy of this phone is provided by a 5000 mAh battery with a charging capacity of 66 W.
Honor has not yet announced the price of the Magic V2, but it is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2024.
