Chinese tech giant Baidu has officially released its chatbot, Ernie Bot, to users after receiving approval from the Chinese government to compete with other companies in the field, including OpenAI and ChatGPT chatbot.
Users can now download Ernie Bot through app stores as well as Baidu’s website. Ernie’s performance is similar to that of its main competitor, ChatGPT. So you can ask it questions or perform various functions with different commands. For example, Ernie can write text or summarize articles for you.
More than one million users for Baidu Chatbot in less than a day
According to Baidu, Ernie Bot has been released to the public worldwide, but you need a Chinese number to log in and use the chatbot. Therefore, not many users are able to use it at the moment. Of course, it should be noted that Ernie Bot is available on Google Play and the US App Store, but it can only be used in Chinese.
According to Baidu spokespersons, the number of Ernie Bot users reached more than 1 million within 19 hours of its release. To improve the performance of its chatbot, Baidu has also launched a plugin store so that different functions can be achieved with different plugins.
Along with this chatbot, Baidu wants to release a series of artificial intelligence apps so that users can access and experience the four main and key features of productive artificial intelligence, i.e. understanding, production, reasoning, and memory.
Simultaneously with the release of new apps, this Chinese company is looking for user feedback to improve their performance and of course its main model named Ernie. Baidu wants to use these feedbacks to make Ernie Bot’s performance more creative.
Finally, we should mention again that Baidu has released Ernie Bot to the public after receiving approval from the Chinese government. Apparently, other Chinese companies active in the field of artificial intelligence have also managed to receive approval from the Beijing government.
