Adobe announced that Dr. John Warnock, one of the co-founders of Adobe, died on Saturday at the age of 82. The cause of his death has not yet been announced.
As you probably know, Warnock founded Adobe in 1982 with his partner, Dr. Charles Gasche, who passed away a few years ago. The original Adobe logo was designed by Warnock himself, and the company’s first software called Adobe PostScript was released two years after its establishment. Warnock was the CEO of Adobe until 2000 and until 2017 he was the chairman of the board of directors of Adobe together with Gasche. He then remained on the board of directors of Adobe.
“Warnock was one of the greatest inventors of our generation and had a huge impact on how we communicate with words, images and videos,” Adobe’s current CEO said in an email to the company’s employees.
Adobe already has popular software such as Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Photoshop in the market, and in addition to them, it has provided a wide range of applications for different industries. Under Warnock’s time as CEO, Adobe created the standard software for businesses, graphic designers, photographers, and anyone involved in image and audio editing in general.
