New reports suggest that Apple is planning to introduce three new wearable gadgets with cameras, including smart glasses, an artificial intelligence pendant, and an AirPods with a camera. These devices connect to the iPhone and allow Siri to intelligently execute commands based on the user’s environment.
According to Mark German, a Bloomberg reporter, the production of smart glasses will begin in December 2026, and this product will probably come to the market in 2027. These smart glasses will compete directly with the Meta smart glasses, focusing on combining high-quality design, an advanced camera, and deep integration with Siri.
Apple’s smart glasses are introduced with a camera and a smart assistant
Apple’s smart glasses will not have a built-in display, but they will make phone calls, play music, interact with Siri, and execute ambient commands. The user can ask questions about the ingredients of food, get help from the glasses to identify objects, recognize city signs when navigating, and be reminded of tasks in certain situations.

Bloomberg’s report says that Apple designs and manufactures the frame for these smart glasses internally and does not collaborate with brands that manufacture glasses. This decision provides more complete control over design, build quality and component placement.
All three of Apple’s new devices, i.e. smart glasses, artificial intelligence pendant, and AirPods with a camera, use the built-in camera and connect to the iPhone so that Siri can make decisions and act based on the image of the environment. This approach transforms Siri from a simple voice assistant to a context-oriented assistant that sees and analyzes the user’s surroundings.
Apple’s plan for AI hardware isn’t limited to smart glasses. This company is also working on an artificial intelligence pendant in the same dimensions as the Airtag, which the user wears as a necklace or pin on clothes. This artificial intelligence pendant acts as an “always-on camera” for the iPhone and has a built-in microphone to call Siri.

Bloomberg says that Apple’s AI pendant will have an internal chip, but leave the main processing to the iPhone. This design reduces the weight and energy consumption of the pendant and at the same time uses the high processing power of the iPhone to analyze the image and run artificial intelligence models. Bloomberg’s source suggests that this device will enter the market next year.
Bloomberg also says that Apple is also working on a new generation of AirPods, which is likely to be introduced this year. Mark Garman previously wrote that the new AirPods use a low-resolution camera to analyze the user’s surroundings and provide the visual data needed for artificial intelligence capabilities.
Airpods with a camera can enable applications such as detecting the environment, helping with navigation, providing guidance in sports exercises, or monitoring the user’s safety in crowded spaces.
