Mohammad Mehdi AsadiCEO of Ide Tejarat Hermes Company and the organizer of Iran’s first international artificial intelligence exhibition, says that the country’s main challenge in this field is not the lack of knowledge and manpower, but the lack of a coherent decision-making and implementation system in new technologies; A weakness that can turn AI’s great opportunities into threats.
Global turn from theory to product
In the press conference of this event, referring to the studies conducted before the design of the exhibition, Esadi said that the review of the most important artificial intelligence events in the world during the last two years shows that the global focus has changed from purely theoretical meetings to the display of real capabilities, products and practical solutions.
According to him, although the conferences have a guiding role, it is the exhibitions that bring the technology into action; A link that has been less addressed in the Iranian technology ecosystem.
Holding Iran’s first international artificial intelligence exhibition
According to the announcement of the managing director of the organizing company, Iran’s first international artificial intelligence exhibition with the support of the Trade Development Organization and Tehran International Exhibitions Company will be held from January 22 to 25 at Tehran International Exhibitions.
The global picture of AI; More productivity with less cost
Citing international data, Esdi explained that between 2023 and 2024, the quality and efficiency of artificial intelligence models has increased noticeably, and on the other hand, the cost of developing and using this technology has decreased.
He added that the United States is still the main investment player in this field and has a significant distance with China and Europe; While the amount of organizational use of artificial intelligence in leading countries has grown more than three times.
Iran’s focus on talent; Neglect of governance
According to Esadi, compared to some countries in the region, such as Saudi Arabia and Egypt, Iran has grown more in the field of human resources and knowledge production, but it faces challenges in policymaking, governance and implementation.
He emphasized that holding this exhibition can help to create coordination between different actors and prepare the country for a more serious entry into the field of artificial intelligence.
Artificial intelligence will not wait for us
The CEO of Ide Tejarat Hermes warned against the loss of opportunities and said that although Iran is not behind scientifically, weakness in executive and decision-making systems can cause the loss of this historical opportunity. An opportunity that will be very expensive to compensate for in the future.
The exhibition focuses on five key issues
According to Esadi, Iran’s first international artificial intelligence exhibition focuses on providing practical solutions for the country’s five basic challenges: environment, energy, health, security and education; With the aim of concretely demonstrating the role of AI in solving real problems.
From infrastructure to creative industries
The focus of this exhibition will include infrastructure and basic technologies of artificial intelligence, intelligentization of industries, emerging technologies, urban and social solutions, creative industries and indigenous innovations.
Smart platform and international interactions
Esdi announced the design of a dedicated web application for this event, which offers services such as registration, receiving QR Code, planning events, buying tickets and holding B2B meetings in an intelligent way.
According to him, about 40 foreign guests will attend the exhibition and B2B meetings will be held as scheduled.
Special support for knowledge bases
The managing director of the organizing company announced that with the cooperation of Innovation and Prosperity Fund, discounts between 70 and 90 percent will be considered for knowledge-based companies, and programs such as demo, hackathon and specialized events in the field of smart city and creative industries will also be held.
Two specialized stages and several exhibition halls
At the end, Esadi said that this exhibition has two specialized stages for panels, specialized events and hackathons and will be held in halls 8, 9, 10, 11 and 25 of Tehran International Exhibitions.
According to the organizer of Iran’s first international artificial intelligence exhibition, the future of AI in the country is tied to decision-making, governance and effective implementation rather than knowledge and talent. The gap that this exhibition wants to highlight and provide a solution for.
