President Donald Trump has launched a new program called the US Tech Force to seriously modernize the federal government while competing with China in artificial intelligence.
According to reports, this two-year plan is supposed to attract about a thousand technology and artificial intelligence experts from major companies such as Amazon, Apple, Google, Meta, Microsoft and other major Silicon Valley players. The main goal of the program is to deploy these experts in government organizations to work on critical projects, improve data infrastructure, develop government applications, and use artificial intelligence to increase government efficiency and accountability.
America wants not to lose to China in artificial intelligence competition
Participants of the program will include engineers, data scientists, project managers and artificial intelligence specialists. Organizations define projects based on their needs, and the US Office of Human Resources Management (OPM) is responsible for the technical review and initial screening of applicants, while the final interview and hiring decisions are made by each organization. The annual salary for these forces will be between $130,000 and $200,000 depending on the position, and benefits will be provided according to federal standards.

This program continues Trump’s focus on artificial intelligence, which has previously been followed by lowering regulatory barriers and developing AI infrastructure. Trump previously disbanded the US Digital Service (USDS), which was created by the Obama administration in 2014 to improve government digital services, and fired many of its employees to create the Department of Government Productivity. Now, by recruiting experts from the biggest tech companies, the Trump administration is looking to implement key projects such as integrating artificial intelligence into defense systems, improving data analytics, and modernizing tax systems.
This plan also provides an opportunity to expand cooperation with the private sector; More than 20 major companies, including Adobe, OpenAI, Nvidia, Zoom and others, will provide training resources, mentoring and professional support to the troops, and some will nominate their employees to serve temporarily with the government. After the two-year period, participants can continue to work in the public or private sector, and partner companies are committed to reviewing their work history for future recruitment. By combining hands-on training, competitive financial benefits, and post-graduation career paths, the US Tech Force program demonstrates the US government’s efforts to compete directly with major tech companies to attract AI elites and maintain an active presence on the global tech scene.
