Google recently introduced a new way to access the NotebookLM tool, making it easier and more efficient to work with the tool directly within Gemina.
According to reports, Gemina users can now add their notebooks directly to conversations so that the AI model can access more data and context information and deliver more optimized performance. This feature makes it possible to use Gemina’s most advanced reasoning models without leaving the application, while allowing the user to return to their notebooks and review their information whenever they want.
Integrating NotebookLM into Gemini
According to TestingCatalog’s Alexei Shabanov, this feature was recently enabled in Gemina. He first noticed its existence in November, and an analysis of APK files showed that Google may have rolled out the feature on a limited basis in the past few days. However, access is currently limited; Shabanov reported that he was able to access this feature in only one of his five accounts. Other checks have also shown that the option to add a notebook via the attachment icon (+ button) in the Accounts Pro text box is still not enabled.
When this feature is enabled, users will see the NotebookLM option in the attachment list, and by selecting it, they can connect their notebooks to chats and guide Gemina to perform tasks using the information in the notebooks. This feature allows users to benefit from Gemina’s advanced reasoning models without leaving the main application environment, and at the same time, it is possible to quickly return to notebooks by touching the Sources button and viewing the NotebookLM interface.
However, this feature is currently limited and is not yet widely available to all users. Google is expected to announce the official integration of this feature after the wider rollout. This action shows Google’s effort to make it easier to access powerful artificial intelligence tools and provide a unified experience in Gemina, and it can increase the use of NotebookLM in data analysis and content creation.
