Despite reports about the possibility of adding ads to Google’s Gemina AI, the company has officially confirmed that it has no plans to add ads to the Gemina app at the moment.
AdWeek claimed that Google has told some of its advertising clients that it plans to add ads to the Geminai AI chatbot in 2026, apart from the ads that are in AI Mode and AI Overviews. However, Google has categorically denied this claim.
The Gemina application remains ad-free for now
“Dan Taylor”, Google’s vice president of global advertising, announced in a tweet that the Gemina app has no ads and there are currently no plans to change this situation. He added that these reports were published based on anonymous and poorly informed sources who made false claims.

Google’s AdLiaison account has also confirmed and explained this position:
“Overall, the Gemina app has remained ad-free so far and there are no plans to add ads at this time. In contrast, ads in the AI Overviews section are accessible to US users, and Google is expanding it to other English-speaking countries, while testing ads in AI Mode continues.
This announcement is published in a situation where Gemina is witnessing significant growth. Google announced in October that the service had more than 650 million monthly users, up from 350 million earlier this year. Part of this increase is due to the success of Nano Banana, which Google announced attracted 23 million new users.
Although Google emphasized that it does not currently have plans to add advertisements to Gemina, this possibility is still possible in the future. Advertisements form the main part of Google’s revenue, so adding it to Gemina cannot be ruled out. At the same time, reports suggest that competitors like ChatGPT may also display ads in the future, as newly released code showed signs of preparing ads on the platform.
