Nami Khodro company, in line with the expansion of its electric products portfolio, plans to sell the family and electric sedan Nissan N7 Max to the Iranian market.
In order to revive the name of Nissan in the electric car market, Nami Khodro has introduced an important product called Nissan N7 Max. The flagship model of the series, the Nissan N7-625 MAX, is a large family sedan that is the result of Nissan’s cooperation with Chinese manufacturers. Nissan N7, which is built on modern electric platforms, is a successful combination of Nissan engineering originality and the latest design of electric cars in the world, and its goal is to provide a luxurious, completely silent and very intelligent driving experience to Iranian customers. In this section of car news, we will review the specifications of Nissan N7 Max.
Nissan N7 Max sedan body design philosophy
At the first look at the body design of the Nissan N7, it can be immediately recognized that its design has moved away from common visual languages that focus on sharp and exaggerated lines and has adopted a simple approach. This luxury sedan, which is placed in the mid-sized to large car segment or the E segment, has been engineered with calculated dimensions. The overall length of the body is 4930 mm, its width is 1895 mm and its height is 1487 mm. The wheelbase of this car is 2915 mm.
In the front part of the Nissan N7 Max sedan, we see the complete elimination of the traditional grilles, which gave way to a unified and aerodynamic view and gave the car a completely futuristic look. This smooth surface is adorned with Nissan’s distinctive new optical signature; The use of advanced light sets based on LED technologies not only optimizes the lighting performance, but also acts as a visual element.
In the side view, the door handles, which are designed in a smart and completely hidden way, in addition to beauty, play a fundamental role in optimizing the air flow and drastically reducing the drag coefficient (air resistance), which will have a direct effect on the effective increase of the battery’s navigation range. This side view is completed with special 19-inch rims, which not only visually match the large dimensions of the car, but their design is based on the principles of aerodynamics.
Checking the technical capabilities and battery of Nissan N7-625 MAX
At the beating heart of the Nissan N7-625 MAX, there is a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor mounted on the front axle. This electric engine has the ability to produce 268 horsepower and 305 Nm of instant torque. While these figures may not be competitive with new sedans in the domestic market, they are decent for a luxury family car in this class.
One of the most prominent strengths of Nissan N7 is in the field of energy management and storage. This car is equipped with a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack with a capacity of 73 kWh. Based on the standard CLTC cycle, which usually provides relatively more optimistic figures than the European WLTP or the American EPA standard, the Nissan N7 is capable of traveling an impressive 625 kilometers on a full charge.
The car’s fast charging system is also highly efficient and is able to increase the battery capacity from 30 to 80% in just 41 minutes, which minimizes stopping time during long journeys. The power generated by the electric motor is transmitted to the wheels through a single-speed E-CVT gearbox.
The sedan’s front axle uses MacPherson strut suspension, a common, affordable, and proven performance standard that does its job well in this class of vehicle. But in the rear axle, Nissan N7 is equipped with torsion beam integral suspension system. Due to its semi-independent nature, this type of suspension has less ability to control the movement of each wheel separately on uneven surfaces compared to more advanced systems such as multilink independent suspension.
While Nissan engineers have certainly tried to extract a smooth and acceptable ride from this system by carefully optimizing the bushings and shock absorbers, but in this price and size class, it was expected that an independent multi-link suspension system would be used in the rear axle to achieve maximum dynamic stability, passenger comfort on rough roads, and improved steering.
Nissan N7 Max cabin design and facilities
Opening the door of the Nissan N7 and stepping into its interior, we immediately encounter a modern and futuristic design of the cabin, which is based on simplicity and technology. The first thing that catches the eye is the extensive removal of physical buttons and their replacement with a large 15.6-inch touchscreen display.
Nissan has always been known in the automotive industry for offering seats with unparalleled comfort, and in the N7, they have taken this feature to a new level. The driver’s seat is electrically adjustable in 14 different directions, allowing precise personalization of the sitting position for each person, while the front passenger seat also provides significant comfort with 8-way electric adjustment. Beyond the standard configuration, both seats are equipped with heating and cooling systems.
The high point of the luxury of these seats is the presence of a 12-point massager that relieves the fatigue of long trips and provides a relaxing experience. But the main innovation lies in the driver’s seat; Where “smart cushions” use 49 precise pressure sensors to continuously monitor the driver’s body condition. These sensors detect the smallest change in the sitting position and weight distribution and automatically correct the ergonomics of the seat. Among other comfort and safety options of Nissan N7 Max sedan, the following should be mentioned:
- Panoramic roof
- Dual automatic air conditioning system
- High quality sound system including 12 speakers and subwoofer
- Wireless charger with a power of 50 watts
- USB Type-C ports
- Adjustable internal lighting system
- Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control (DRCC)
- Lane Departure Warning System (LDW)
- Vehicle maintenance radar between lanes (LDP/ELA)
- Intelligent emergency braking system (AEB)
- Forward collision warning system (IFCW)
- Rear and front cross traffic warning systems
- Tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS)
- Driver and passenger front, side and curtain airbags
One of the distinctive and intelligent features in Nissan N7 is the EAPM system, which prevents sudden and unexpected acceleration of the car in emergency situations, especially when the driver mistakenly presses the gas pedal instead of the brake, and increases safety significantly.
Strengths and weaknesses of the Nissan N7 car
The Nissan N7 Max sedan, which will be offered by Nami Khodro with a platinum warranty, has entered the Iranian market relying on the credibility of the Nissan brand and its attractive design to compete with Chinese and European competitors. The main advantage of this car is its excellent range of 625 kilometers, which makes it easy for buyers to charge. The outstanding strengths of the N7 include very comfortable seats with massaging, high range of motion, full driver assistance systems (ADAS) for greater safety, and a spacious cabin.
But two technical weaknesses can also be considered for this car, which includes the use of an integrated rear suspension system in this class of car and its one-wheel drive compared to some four-wheel drive competitors. However, the Nissan N7 Max sedan offers the perfect combination of technology, comfort and relaxation for city use and family trips on regular roads.
