These 5 special editions of Toyota Hilux will blow the minds of off-roaders

Toyota’s Thai branch has showcased some specially tuned versions of the Hilux pickup during the 2023 Bangkok Auto Show. The 5 special editions offered by Toyota are Revo 54th, Revo High Performance Style, Revo Twin Turbo, Revo Dragster and Revo Z Runner. Each of them has different features in terms of design and performance, which makes them cover a wide range of pickup lovers.

New special editions of Toyota Hilux

The 54th version of Toyota Hilux with an aggressive off-road design has been developed based on the Hilux dual-cab Perirunner single differential 2.4 liter automatic transmission. A widebody kit, scoop-type hood air intakes, Profender front and rear shock absorbers, raised TGM springs and 20-inch wheels are new elements for this special edition.

Hilux High Performance Style, similar to the mentioned version, has an aggressive design with red body color and black trim. It also uses a massive body kit, a suspension kit, Profender front and rear shock absorbers, and 20-inch Lenzo wheels with Yakuhama tires. Even the engine steering unit and sports exhaust are provided by a third party.

While the previous two versions were off-road oriented, the Twin Turbo, Dragster and Z Runner versions have a design closer to an everyday car; This can be seen from the lower distance of the bottom of their body compared to the ground.

The Dragster version has also been upgraded in terms of performance and is equipped with a 2.4-liter turbocharged diesel engine with an output of 500 horsepower. Modified cylinder head and intercooler, crankshaft, valves and other new components have been effective in achieving this performance.

Finally, it should be said that Toyota Hilux will be available with a hybrid engine in the near future, following the new generation Tacoma model 2024. Some time ago, Toyota officially announced that the Hilux hybrid version will be launched in the Australian market in the first half of 2024. The engine of this version includes a 2.8-liter turbocharged diesel engine and a small electric motor, plus a 48-volt battery to power it.
