Google released the Android 14 Beta 4 update yesterday and now the company is preparing to release the final update of this operating system. The new version mainly includes bug fixes, but it has introduced a nice feature to make unlocking the phone easier.
Beta version 4 has a new “Auto Confirm Unlock” feature in the Settings section, which automatically unlocks the phone when you correctly type a PIN code of six digits or more. Previously, to unlock the phone, after entering the PIN code, you had to tap the enter button. Of course, Google has warned that the ability to automatically unlock the phone is a little less secure than the previous method.
Also, in previous beta versions, the ringtone and notification volume sliders were linked, and you couldn’t increase the ringtone volume without increasing it for notifications. Now in the new version these two are completely separated.
Other features of Android 14 Beta 4 include new default profile pictures, beta support for tablets and flip phones, and a better widget picker for tablets. The new update is now available for Google Pixel phones, including the Pixel 4a.
Google released the first Android 14 developer beta in March and the first public beta in April. According to Google’s schedule, the stable version of Android 14 will be released in August.
