In its latest meeting, the Majlis Education, Research and Technology Commission decided to rewrite the National Artificial Intelligence Development Plan; To prevent the creation of new organizational structures or parallel institutions.
Speaking to the House of Nation, Ehsan Azimi Rad, spokesman for the recent meeting, explained: “The plan issued by the Honorable Parliament on the National Development of Artificial Intelligence was reviewed by the Education Commission. One of the clauses of the project is the formation of the “National Artificial Intelligence Organization” that has been opposed by the government. “
According to Azimi Rad, the country’s current structures in this area have already been formed; Including the National Council of Artificial Intelligence, which is active by the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution, as well as the “Artificial Intelligence Technology Development Staff”, which was established by the Cabinet on May 5.
In this regard, the proposal of the Members of the Education Commission is to rewritten the National Artificial Intelligence Development Plan based on existing capacities and avoid new institutionalization; Including no need to form new laboratories, new funds or new executive structures.
According to the meeting’s decision, the elites and experts are expected to submit their own comments on the proposed materials within the next week. The rewriting process will be focused on the Education Commission and more specialized reviews will be conducted in the form of specialized committee meetings. Finally, the modified version will be submitted to the open court for final approval.
It is worth mentioning that the initial national artificial intelligence plan was approved by the Parliament’s Industry Commission on April 5, which emphasized the continued activity of the National Artificial Intelligence Organization and its statute formulation.
