Apple has ambitious programs to compete in the field of artificial intelligence, according to Mark Gorman’s new report in the Power On newsletter. This new approach reflects the company’s dramatic change, as Apple had previously announced that it did not intend to develop chats.
Apple’s Apple Intelligence Service has not done so much so far. Features such as Genmoji and the notifications summary have failed to meet expectations. Also, the release of a completely new version of Siri Audio Assistant has been delayed for more than a year.
However, Apple intends to change the situation. According to Bloomberg, the company has formed a new team, “Answers, Knowledge, and Information” earlier this year. Informed sources say the team is investigating several internal artificial intelligence services whose ultimate goal is to create a similar ChatGpt experience in the search field.
Apple’s move is not very unexpected, as the company had previously shown its desire to work with startups active in the field of artificial intelligence such as Perplexity. The new team managed by Robbie Walker, a former Siri manager, has lost its previous position after recent delays in the projects.
It is worth noting that Walker described these delays as “embarrassing” at one of the public meetings this year.
Given the team’s newcomer, we probably have to wait a while to see the results of its efforts. However, the news that Apple is working on an artificial intelligence search service is exciting in itself, and it seems that such a feature can be very useful and useful.
