Oracle plans to spend about $ 40 billion to buy advanced Nvidia chips to launch a huge datacenian in Texas. The installation, which is part of the Stargate ambitious project, will consume up to 1.2 GW of electricity after completion. The site will be recognized as Stargate’s $ 500 billion project index.
According to the Financial Times, the Stargit project, led by Openai and Softbank, is being implemented in collaboration with companies such as Oracle, with the aim of transforming artificial intelligence infrastructure in the US and other countries.
Oracle makes one of the world’s largest artificial intelligence datasers in Texas
The Texas Datacenter will include 8 buildings on a 354 hectare land. Crusoe Energy Systems and Blue Owl Capital have also attracted $ 15 billion in combined capital such as loans and stocks to build the center. The JPMorgan Bank has played a key role in financing the project by lending $ 9 billion and $ 600 million.
After completing the building, planned for mid 2026, the collection will be one of the world’s largest datacenters. Openai has signed 15 years for the entire contract area and, according to internal sources, the center will benefit from about 400,000 powerful NVIDIA GB200 chips.
The main purpose of this center is to train and implement Openai artificial intelligence models; A key step in diversifying the company’s computational resources and reducing Microsoft’s dependence that has so far provided its infrastructure.
OpenAI and Microsoft’s exclusive agreement ended earlier this year; Because OpenAI’s processing needs exceeded Microsoft’s capacity. Although negotiations on the duration of Microsoft’s permits for Openai models continue, this reflects strategic rotation towards collaborating with cloud providers.
Global expansion of the Stargate project and competition in the AI field
Although the Stargate project is currently only investing directly in the Texas center, its global expansion programs are underway. Projects in Europe and Asia are in the process of investigation, and the high speed of investments is a sign of fierce competition by companies and countries for the construction of the next -generation artificial intelligence infrastructure.
Stargit is a world -class ambitious and unprecedented project launched with the support of Openai, Softbank, Oracle and MGX Abu Dhabi Investment Company. The project aims to invest up to $ 500 billion over the next four years to establish a national network of artificial intelligence centers. Of this amount, the first $ 100 billion is allocated to the construction of 20 centers, the first of which is Texas.

According to informed sources, Softbank and OpenAI each hold 40 % of the Stargate project shares. Oracle and MGX are also committed to investing $ 7 billion. The financial management of the project is in charge of the Softbank and is conducted by Openai.
Stargit project partners intend to extend their work beyond US borders. The next step is to set up an artificial intelligence center in Abu Dhabi; A 25 -km site, which will be built in collaboration with the UAE G42. The center may consume up to 5 GW of electricity; That is, four times the use of the Texas Center and ultimately host more than 2 million advanced Nvidia chips.
The project, which was announced at the same time as Donald Trump’s recent visit to the Persian Gulf, is part of Openai’s initiative to cooperate with countries; A plan designed to help governments develop independent and indigenous artificial intelligence infrastructure.
