Huawei coinues to advance on the developme of proprietary hardware, and the company’s next flagship, the Payra 80 series, appears to be a testame to this claim. After iroducing new products such as the Nova 14 Series, all atteion has been drawn to the Pyra 80 family, which we expect to unveil three models in the second half of 2025: the Pyra 80, the Pyra 80 Peru and the Pira 80 Ultra.
The most promine feature meioned in rece reports is the beating heart of the Peru model. The information released by the well -known disclosure, Digital Chat Station, suggests that Huawei will abandon Sony’s sensors at Payora 80 Pro and use a custom image sensor. This sensor is the SmartSres SC5A0CS, a 1 -megapixel 1 -inch sensor with an RYB color array. This array is well -known for improving the camera’s performance in low light because of its ability to absorb higher light.
This is a significa redirection for Huawei. Reports show that a few mohs ago, the company’s engineers tested the prototypes of the Pyra 80 Pro with a powerful Sony IMX989 sensor. But the final decision has been made to take advaage of its dedicated sensor by relying on iernal power. The move clearly shows Huawei’s attempt to reduce dependence on other companies and strengthen its iernal supply chain.

Other parts of the rear camera set appears to remain iact. This means that a 50 -megapixel ultra -widespread lens and a 50 -megapixel telephoto camera with macro photographic capability are accompanied by the main sensor. The poi is that all three sensors will use Ryb color filters. This filter has the poteial to improve the quality of photos, especially in dark environmes, with a 40 % increase in light absorption compared to traditional filters.
In the display section, Pira 80 Peru will have something to say. Rumors refer to a 6.78 -inch OLED panel, 1.5K resolution and support for the LTPO variable renovation rate, which promises to be a smooth and high quality user experience.
The Payra 80 series release, given its special focus on proprietary compones, especially in the sensitive camera area, can be an importa eve for Huawei and the smartphone industry. The series shows that Huawei is determined to overcome challenges and consolidate its place in the market with iernal innovations. We have to wait uil the second half of 2025 and see what these new flagships do in practice.
