Google has recently added the AI Mode feature to the Google app search bar in Android and iOS, in the direction of trying to integrate artificial intelligence with its most widely used products. This change, which is activated for American users, is provided with the aim of easier access to artificial intelligence.
According to the 9to5Google report, Google has added the AI mode button to its original app search bar on Android and iOS. This feature is now available to all users within the United States and appears in the form of a new shortcut to the right of the search bar.
Direct access to AI MODE in Google Search Bar
Previously, there were microphone shortcuts and Google Lens in the search bar. These options have now replaced AI Mode; The icon shown in the form of a magnifying glass symbol (Google’s dedicated artificial intelligence mark) is displayed within a circular circle with the original colors of the Google brand. The color icon resembles the new Gradeian symbol “G” but is not exactly the same.
Compared to the previous state of the capsule -shaped button, the new shortcut has a permanent animation that even remains and is available even when scrolling in the Discover feed.
Also, in the form of this update, a horizontal color bar containing various shortcuts such as Translate, HomeWork and Sound Search has been deleted (unless the AI MODE has not yet been activated for the user). In the new interface, only the Screenshots option is retained and the Voice Input and Google Lens buttons are added again, but this time without the color and the previous graphics.
This change makes the Google app’s top interface easier and minimal. Google first tested the design by April 2025 (April 1404) and has now released it extensively for iOS users and more Android users (even in beta versions).

This new shortcut will be added to the AI Mode filter button on the Google search results page. Google also checks the same feature for the device’s home screen widget, but it has not yet reached the sustainable version of the app.
In other recent updates, the full -page ASK AI Mode interface now has a shortcut button in the upper right corner that users can use to quickly access the history of previous questions, without the need for new search.
Adding AI Mode to Google App search bar is an important step to normalize and install artificial intelligence in everyday users’ processes. This not only makes the search experience more interactive and interactive, but also represents Google’s strategy to integrate Jamina with its application environment.
