According to a report released on May 5, the Google search engine detects and blocks hundreds of millions of fake and fraud pages daily. Google has announced that thanks to the improvement of detection and classification systems, the ability to identify the captivating pages is now more than ever before. For example, in only one particular area, namely abuse of fake airline support numbers, it has been able to reduce more than 5 % of malicious activities.
In the Chrome browser, Google uses a large Gemini Nano language model to enhance advanced protection capability. This model runs locally on the user’s computer and allows for the instant identification of suspicious websites without having to connect to the server. The technology is especially used against fake Remote Tech Support Scams and will soon be expanded to the Android version.
Google has also announced a new warning system to deal with deceptive notifications in Android. When the artificial intelligence of the browser detects a suspicious notifications, it alerts the user and allows the user to cancel or view blocked content.

Finally, to combat SMS scams and voice calls, the new capability of identifying artificial intelligence fraud has been added to the Messages and Phone Google apps, which operates on-on-app. This feature identifies messages and calls that are probably dangerous before they become a real threat.
