The Wikipedia Nonprofit Organization has recently announced its next three years of artificial intelligence strategy. According to the organization, artificial intelligence will not replace the community of editors and volunteers.
According to the Wikipedia Foundation, the organization will use artificial intelligence to create new features that “remove technical barriers” and allow editors, managers and security officials to have tools to perform their duties without worry about technical issues.
In recent years, with the advent of productive artificial intelligence, one of the concerns has been that this advanced technology may replace human employees and make them unemployed. One of the jobs of artificial intelligence has also been to produce content. However, Wikipedia intends to use artificial intelligence as a tool to make it easier for people to replace them.
Wikipedia Strategy on Artificial Intelligence
“We believe that our future work with artificial intelligence is not only because of what we do, but also because of how we do,” Chris Albeon, director of machine learning at the Wikipedia Foundation and Leila Zia, Iran’s Wikipedia Foundation Research.
They say:
“We will take a human -centered approach and prioritize the human resources; We will prioritize the use of open -air artificial intelligence or weightlifter; “We will prioritize transparency.”
The Wikipedia Foundation says it will use productive artificial intelligence in specific areas that have superiority over humans. One of these is the creation of artificial intelligence-based workflows to automate boring tasks.
In addition, artificial intelligence will be used to improve information detection capability in Wikipedia; This way, editors will have more time to consult with the creation, changes and updates of Wikipedia entries. Artificial intelligence will also help editors automate translation. The technology can also make the process of recruiting new volunteers faster.
