In a speech in London, Demis Hasbis, CEO of Google Dipmand, said that AGI’s comprehensive intelligence (AGI) will emerge in the next 5 to 10 years. AGI refers to artificial intelligence systems that have similar or superior human capabilities.
According to CNBC, Hassabis insisted that we have not yet reached this stage; Because current systems have capabilities, but they still can’t perform many complex tasks. He added that we still have a lot of research to reach AGI.
Hassabis went on to say that today’s artificial intelligence has more passive characteristics and still cannot reach a deep understanding of the real world. He believes that in the next 5 to 10 years, many of these systems will be gradually improved and closer to AGI. To achieve this goal, systems need to be able to have a better understanding of the real -world contexts and conditions. Hassabis said:
“I think today’s systems are very passive and there are many things they can’t do, but I think many of these capabilities will be available over the next 5 to 10 years and go to something that we call artificial intelligence.”
Different predictions from technology leaders about AGI
Hassbis also mentioned the advances in real -world models. These models help artificial intelligence systems to better understand their world. He added that to reach AGI, combining these models with planning algorithms requires further research.
Finally, Hasbis emphasized that many improvements in the field of multicolor artificial intelligence are taking place. These systems can cooperate or compete, and this can be an important step in the development of AGI. According to him, to achieve this goal, the relationships of the agents must be properly implemented so that systems can communicate effectively.
In this regard, some other technology leaders have also made predictions; For example, the CEO of Anthropics, Dario Amudi, predicted at the Davos summit in the next two to three years that we will see a form of artificial intelligence that is superior to humans in most duties, but Cisco’s product director Jito Patel may have predicted AGI in 2025.
