Android device manufacturers have used vaporization (VC) systems in their devices for years to cope with complex processors and cooling. In contrast, Apple has continued to use heatsinks to cool its iPhones, but this trend is said to change with this year’s iPhone 17 series.
A new report from China indicates that Cupertino has decided to use evaporation systems in all models of the iPhone 17 family (Pro and non-Pro).
Evaporating systems are sealed metal components that contain a liquid (usually deionized water) that evaporates when exposed to the heat of the processor. The steam is then transferred to the surface of the chamber to dissipate the heat and effectively cool the device.
This new report contradicts the rumor that was published by the well-known Apple analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo. He had said that only the iPhone 17 Pro Max model will receive the VC cooling system. It is also said that the non-Pro models of the iPhone 17 will finally have displays with a high refresh rate. It is not yet clear whether these panels will be 90Hz or 120Hz.
