Users can now call ChatGPT

OpenAI has introduced a new feature for US users: you can now get answers from ChatGPT by calling or texting 1-800-ChatGPT (1-800-242-8478).

The new feature was announced during the 12-day OpenAI event.

The 1-800-ChatGPT number is designed for times when there is no internet access but a mobile connection is available. With this feature, ChatGPT provides voice answers to questions and also supports landlines. Additionally, users can send messages via WhatsApp, but sending images or videos is currently not supported.

Any phone number in the US can call ChatGPT and get a free answer for as little as 15 minutes without an OpenAI account. To continue calling, you need to download the app and create an account.

This feature is experimental and its terms and availability may change in the future.
