OpenAI, the developer of ChatGPT, will be unveiling new products, features and demos for 12 days starting today. According to sources, one of these products will be the public AI version of the Sora video maker.
“Sam Altman”, the CEO of OpenAI, during his presence at the New York Times DealBook conference, officially announced that the company under his management will unveil new products for 12 days from today. Of course, Altman did not mention these products, however, sources report that the public version of Sora will be released.
The public release of AI Sora is coming
This isn’t the first time that information about Sora’s public release date has been leaked. Previously, Wall Street Journal claimed in a report that Sora will arrive before the end of this year. Considering that there are only a few days left until the end of 2024, it is likely that one of the products considered by OpenAI is the public version of Sora.
Sora artificial intelligence was officially introduced a few months ago, however, it was not available to the public. OpenAI decided to release this artificial intelligence only to a small group of users, which of course became a problem for it. A few days ago, some of these same people provided unauthorized access to this artificial intelligence.
In addition to the unauthorized access, the data used to train Sora has been one of the most controversial issues in recent times. Currently, it is not clear whether OpenAI has used YouTube videos to train this artificial intelligence or not. If this is confirmed, there is a possibility that YouTube or Google will sue OpenAI.
Finally, it should be noted that OpenAI is not the only company working on text-to-video artificial intelligence. Currently, there are several models with stunning performance in the market, for example, Runway can be mentioned. In addition, Google has made Veo artificial intelligence available to Google Vertex AI users since yesterday.
