Zoom is looking to rebrand and become an AI-based work management platform.
It was during the Covid pandemic that Zoom became known as a familiar name in the field of video conferencing; Today, this company is looking for a change of direction to become a comprehensive business platform based on artificial intelligence.
The company has changed its name from Zoom Video Communications to Zoom Communications, and plans to become more than a simple tool for video communication.
Zoom’s revenue quadrupled in 2020 amid the Covid-19 pandemic, but faced the challenge of declining demand for video conferencing services as employees gradually returned to offices. In order to maintain its revenue, in addition to resuming the presence of employees in the office, Zoom faced the problem of fierce competition from tech giants such as Google and Microsoft.
To combat the problems, Zoom focused on expanding its services beyond video conferencing. By introducing tools such as Zoom Team Chat and Zoom Workplace, the company seeks to provide a complete set of productivity tools such as office applications, communication and other tools needed to work in modern and hybrid environments.
Zoom has also focused on the use of artificial intelligence and has introduced its artificial intelligence assistant called Zoom 2.0. The Zoom assistant can perform various tasks such as summarizing meetings, helping with scheduling, and even creating a digital copy of the user.
Zoom’s long-term goal is to create a platform that fully automates everyday tasks, allowing users to focus on more important tasks.
