Xiaomi introduced its Redmi sub-category with a new logo and a new identity. From now on, the name “Redmi” will appear in capital letters “REDMI”.
Lu Weibing, head of Xiaomi’s mobile division, sees this change as a sign of a fundamental shift in Redmi’s brand strategy. He believes that this update will prepare Redmi to expand its products and strengthen its position in the market.
In line with this development, Redmi will unveil a new series of smartphones called “Turbo”. This series will replace the popular “K” series, which has been a serious competitor for the flagships of the market.
Wang Thomas, CEO of Redmi, said: “With Xiaomi’s flagship models moving towards a higher price point, the ‘K’ series will act as a ‘flagship killer’, offering powerful performance at a very competitive price.” On the other hand, the “Pro” series will provide users with a completely professional and high-level experience.
