Zelensky: Iran has not provided Russia with a missile
The president of Ukraine did not confirm the claim of the Western media about sending Iranian ballistic missiles to Russia, but he claimed that the talks between the parties are continuing and it is worrying for Ukraine.
According to RCO News Agency, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said that Iran has not yet provided Russia with a missile and claimed that the two countries are discussing this matter.
Earlier, the Wall Street Journal claimed that American officials told their European counterparts that Iran had sent short-range ballistic missiles to Russia.
A similar claim was made by Reuters without providing evidence.
The White House, the main military supporter of Kiev, quoted the Wall Street Journal as saying, “The transfer of missiles from Iran to Russia indicates a major escalation in Tehran’s support for Moscow.”
Ukraine’s insistence on the claims made by the Western media against Iran regarding the sending of ballistic missiles to Russia, while in recent days, Iranian and Russian officials have rejected these claims.
The Ukrainian newspaper Pravda reported that Zelensky said in his latest statement: “They (Russia and Iran) are in close consultation about the missiles that Iran can provide to Russia.” According to the information we have, they have not yet delivered these missiles, but they are discussing this, and this is a concern for us.
The president of Ukraine also repeated the claim of sending Iranian drones to Russia for use in the war in Ukraine and said that Iran has also issued permission to build them in Russia.
This is despite the fact that Iran’s representation in the United Nations has previously stated in a position regarding the claim of sending Iranian ballistic missiles to Ukraine: the position of the Islamic Republic of Iran has not changed in relation to the conflict in Ukraine.
Iran considers it inhumane to send military aid to the conflicting parties, which causes the spread of human and infrastructure losses, as well as distancing from the ceasefire talks; Therefore, not only does it not do so, but also invites other countries to stop sending weapons to the parties involved in the conflict.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran had previously said: We have a clear position regarding the developments in Ukraine and the crisis in Ukraine, and it is unfortunate that some parties, who are part of the war and conflict in the crisis in Ukraine, have made accusations with political motives. against Iran. We are not part of the war and conflict on the issue of Ukraine, and we have repeatedly emphasized that we consider the political solution to be the best solution to this crisis.
