Trump answered Biden from inside the garbage truck
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump hopped on a garbage truck during a campaign rally in Wisconsin to practically respond to Joe Biden’s offensive comments about his supporters.
According to Isna, Joe Biden called Trump’s supporters “garbage” in a conversation with Zoom activists. But he later clarified that he was referring to comedian Tony Hinchcliffe, who called Puerto Rico a “floating island of garbage in the middle of the ocean” during an earlier Trump rally at Madison Square Garden.
Supporters of Democratic vice-presidential candidate Kamala Harris described Hinchcliffe’s remarks as “racist”, although the comedian insisted the joke was not intended.
Trump taunted Biden and Harris in the key state of Wisconsin inside the cab of a white garbage truck decorated with American flags and filled with his own campaign slogans. While leaning out of the driver’s side window, he asked the reporters: How is it? Do you like my garbage truck? This truck is in honor of Kamala and Joe Biden.
Trump later spoke in Green Bay wearing a bright orange vest. “I have to start by saying, 250 million Americans are not trash,” he told the crowd, accusing Democrats of spreading hatred toward his supporters. For the past 9 years, Kamala and her party have called us racists, bigots, fascists, reprehensibles, irredeemables, Nazis and me as Hitler. “They have persecuted you, they have demonized us, they have censored us, they have harassed us and they have used the power of our own government against all of us.”
Vivek Ramaswamy, a businessman and former presidential candidate and Trump ally, posted a video of himself emptying bins into a garbage truck while wearing a green vest.
Harris has distanced himself from Biden’s “garbage” comments. He told the BBC: “I am very much against any criticism of people based on who they vote for.
Both Republicans and Democrats have increasingly accused each other of hateful rhetoric during a highly contentious election cycle. Trump himself has been criticized for using rude and vulgar words against his opponents.
