MediaTek unveiled the Dimension 9400 chip as the world’s first 3nm processor. This chip has a frequency of 3.63 GHz.
Dimension 9400 is made using TSMC’s 3nm technology called N3E and has great performance and productivity.
This chip has a 1+3+4 architecture. Its main core named Cortex-X925 has a frequency of 3.63 GHz, and next to it there are three Cortex-X4 cores with a frequency of 3.3 GHz and four Cortex-A720 cores with a frequency of 2.4 GHz.
According to MediaTek, the Dimensity 9400 has a 15% increase in IPC (instructions per cycle) performance, a 35% increase in single-core performance and a 28% improvement in multi-core performance.
Its Immortalis-G925 GPU, which was introduced earlier this year, has a frequency of 1612 MHz, which brings a 41% improvement in graphics processing, 40% faster performance in ray tracing and 44% energy savings.
The artificial intelligence of this processor is performed by the NPU 890 unit, which consumes 35% less energy than its previous generation. In terms of artificial intelligence capabilities, the Dimensity 9400 chip has image editing capabilities to deliver crisp photos, 100x zoom with fine details, and excellent 4K @ 60 fps video recording performance.
Dimension 9400 is the world’s first chip that supports 10.7 Gbps LPDDR5X RAM. It also has 100% increase in L2 cache memory and 50% increase in L3 cache memory.
It is expected that the Oppo Find X8 flagship phone and the Vivo X200 series will use this chip soon.
