The US Coast Guard has released an image of the Titanic submarine that disappeared in the Atlantic Ocean in June 2023 during a tourist trip to the Titanic.
This week, hearings began on the cause of the Titan submarine explosion. In these meetings, the nature of the incident is examined to determine whether the crew did all they could to prevent the incident or not.
After the hearings began, the US Coast Guard released images of the submarine for the first time. In this image, we can see the submarine’s conical trail breaking and its pieces disintegrating nearby.
According to CNN, after examining the wreckage of the submarine that was found four days after the accident (June 22, 2023), they concluded that the submarine sank due to a sudden explosion caused by high pressure.
Jason Neubauer of the US Coast Guard acknowledged that the team felt it was their duty to continue their efforts to determine the cause of the accident, including whether there was negligence on the part of the crew. The main purpose of doing this is to take measures to prevent such incidents from happening in the future. He also said that he will submit his reports to the Ministry of Justice if he sees any aggressive actions.
It should be remembered that the Titan submarine belonging to the OceanGate company with five passengers left for the sinking site of the famous Titanic on June 19, 2023 and disappeared from the radar on the same day. Four days later on June 22, the US Coast Guard found the wreckage of the submarine along with the bodies of all its occupants.
