Europe lags behind other contenders in the field of artificial intelligence
Continuing his talks about this new technology, Macron said that Americans and Chinese have invested more in this field than European countries, and their current impressive performance is the result of this issue.
The French president encouraged European countries to invest and make more efforts to compensate for this lag, adding that artificial intelligence should serve society’s goals; Not personal goals. He also said that innovation should be created in the public and private sectors so that AI models can be developed more easily.
Macron also reacted to the current laws of the European Union. He stated that this union has implemented a unique legal framework to control developments in this field. He also emphasized the priority of investing in artificial intelligence and said:
“When we reach relative maturity in this area, we can turn the current regulations into a competitive advantage.”
Previously, the two-day international AI Safety Summit was held in London on November 10 and 11 last year. During this important event, the Secretary General of the United Nations, the President of the European Union and the heads of 28 countries of the world talked about the dangers caused by artificial intelligence.
