Xiaomi is expected to unveil the Xiaomi 18, Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max in China next September. These devices will replace Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, which were introduced this month last year. Now a Chinese tech blogger has published a rendering of the Xiaomi 18. Readers are advised to view this report with a grain of salt before proceeding, as the authenticity of the design has not been verified.
The published image shows the square-shaped camera module of the Xiaomi 18 with rounded corners and minimal aesthetics. Three cameras are placed in a triangular arrangement, and subtle Leica branding alongside an LED flash complete the set. This design looks more in line with the recently introduced Oppo Reno 15 series.
According to the information published by the whistleblower source Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi may increase the screen size of Xiaomi 18 from 6.3 inches to 6.4 inches. A bigger screen means more internal space to accommodate more advanced hardware.
Hence, while the Xiaomi 17 was launched with a massive 7,000 mAh battery, there is a possibility that the battery capacity of the Xiaomi 18 will even exceed that of the previous generation. In terms of internal hardware, it is said that this device will be equipped with the next generation Snapdragon 8 Elite Generation 6 chip.
This whistleblower also announced that the entire Xiaomi 18 family will be equipped with a 200-megapixel periscopic telephoto camera. Therefore, Xiaomi 18 will probably use a 200-megapixel periscope camera. Similar to the previous generation, this phone is expected to still have a 50-megapixel main camera and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens. According to the plan to introduce this phone at the end of this year, it is expected that this device will enter the market with Android 17 and a new version of HyperOS.
