90-day blocking of Al-Mayadeen and Al-Jazeera in the occupied territories – Mehr News Agency | RCO News Agency
According to Mehr news agency, citing Quds Press, news sources announced that Tel Aviv has blocked the broadcasting of Qatar’s Al Jazeera and Lebanon’s al-Mayadeen channels in the occupied territories for three mohs.
In a new move to expand restrictions on foreign media, the Zionists decided to block the broadcasting of Al Jazeera channels in Qatar and al-Mayadeen in Lebanon for 90 days.
Israel’s Communications Minister Shlomo Korei announced on Channel X that these two channels will be blocked on websites and YouTube inside Israel.
He also meioned that their satellite broadcasting can be blocked at the discretion of the war minister of this regime.
He announced: The decision to block these channels is based on the revised law approved by the Knesset and implemeed with the approval of Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli Prime Minister and the Cabinet. The new rules have enabled almost complete blocking of Al Jazeera.
Zionist media Ha’aretz reported on Monday: This decision will be implemeed for 90 days and is part of the expansion of restrictions that were implemeed more than two years ago with the approval of what is known as the Al-Jazeera Law, which provides the possibility of banning foreign channels inside Israel.
This Zionist media wrote: Last moh, the Knesset approved a legal amendme that gives the Minister of Communications the authority to shut down foreign media without declaring a state of emergency if the Prime Minister is convinced based on security assessmes that the activities of foreign media are harming iernal security. According to this law, these measures include suspension of broadcasting programs, closing of offices, confiscation of equipme and deactivation of websites of targeted media.
The Zionist regime had previously banned al-Mayadeen TV in November 2023, and in May 2024, it banned Al-Jazeera from covering the Israeli war against the Gaza Strip, and later extended this ban.
This action takes place while the Zionist regime, with the support of the United States and Europe, has committed genocide in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, including killing, starvation, destruction, and displaceme, and has ignored iernational requests and the orders of the Iernational Court of Justice to stop its actions.
