The support of the head of the Iraqi Kurdistan region for the prime ministership of al-Maliki – Mehr news agency RCO News Agency

According to the report of Mehr news agency, quoted by Rodav, “Nachirvan Barzani”, the Preside of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, during a phone call with Nouri al-Maliki, congratulated him on his nomination to take over the post of the coury’s prime minister.

He also announced his support for Maliki’s candidacy and wished him success in fulfilling his future responsibilities to form a governme that can deal with the challenges facing Iraq.

It should be meioned that the Iraqi Shiite Coordination Framework Coalition nominated Nouri al-Maliki, the head of the Rule of Law Coalition, as the official candidate for the post of Prime Minister of this coury.

In this regard, the stateme of the coordination framework of Iraqi Shia groups and parties states: It was decided by the majority of votes that “Nouri Kamel al-Maliki” was nominated as the candidate of the largest parliameary faction, based on his political and administrative experience and his role in managing the coury, for the position of prime minister.

Nouri al-Maliki, in addition to being the head of Hizb al-Dawa and the governme of law coalition, was the prime minister of Iraq for 8 years in 2006.
