Dawood Adib, the head of FAVA Coordination Center and the head of the Iran Artificial Intelligence Technology Companies Association, announced at the press conference of the 26th Iran Telecom 1404 International Exhibition that the approach of this event has changed compared to previous years and its main focus is on advanced technologies, especially artificial intelligence and edge technologies.
according to Dawood AdibIn some scientific and research indicators of artificial intelligence, Iran has a rank between 5 and 15 and in total below 20 in the world; But this position falls to a rank between 90 and 100 in the field of commercialization and practical use of technology. Adib described this significant difference as a sign of “serious disharmony in the country’s technology ecosystem”.
He considered institutional parallelism and non-optimal allocation of resources to be the main factors of this situation and emphasized that despite the powerful human capital and high capacity of universities, the path of knowledge transfer to industry and market has not yet been properly formed.
The head of Iran Artificial Intelligence Technology Companies Association introduced Iran Telecom 1404 as an attempt to correct this gap and said the purpose of the exhibition is to bring together universities, technology companies and economic actors to strengthen interaction, synergy and turn ideas into practical products.
Adib also announced the holding of more than 20 specialized panels in this period; Panels covering areas such as industrial digitalization, intelligent monitoring of equipment, detection and countering of cyber attacks, intelligent management of telecommunication networks and advanced data analysis.
According to him, more than 80% of the products offered in Iran Telecom 1404 are based on artificial intelligence; Products that include platforms for reducing maintenance costs, optimizing energy consumption in large industries, intelligent data center management systems, intelligent decision-making assistants, and predictive maintenance solutions.
In the end, Adib emphasized that Iran Telecom’s move towards specialization and focusing on new technologies can play an important role in improving the practical position of artificial intelligence in the country and the future of Iran’s communication and information technology industry.
