
Emphasizing the necessity of avoiding the creation of parallel and scattered structures, the Supreme Supervisory Board of the National Expediency Council found Articles 2 and 3 of the “National Plan for the Development of Artificial Intelligence” to be contrary to the general policies of the administrative and legislative system; Materials that focus on the formation of the National Artificial Intelligence Council and Organization.
According to the public relations report of the Expediency Council, the opinion of the Supreme Supervisory Board will be reflected to the Guardian Council for review and legal action, so that the Islamic Council can resolve the discrepancies and adapt the resolution to the general policies of the system.
In an extraordinary meeting, the Supreme Supervisory Board once again emphasized on preventing the formation of parallel and scattered structures in the country’s governance system and declared that articles 2 and 3 of the “National Artificial Intelligence Development Plan”, which are based on the establishment of the National Artificial Intelligence Council and Organization, are not consistent with the general policies of the system.
This meeting was held on the 3rd of January 1404 under the chairmanship of Mohammad Baqer Zul Qadr and with the presence of the majority of members. In this meeting, the representatives of the heads of the legislative and judicial branches, the secretary of the Supreme Council of Cyberspace, the vice president for science, technology and knowledge-based economy, the head of the administrative and employment organization, the minister of communications and information technology, and the head of the industries and mines commission of the Islamic Council were present in this meeting.
By announcing the contradiction of the key articles of the “National Plan for the Development of Artificial Intelligence”, this resolution will be returned to the parliament for amendment and revision; A reform whose purpose is to prevent institutional interference and to align artificial intelligence policy with the macro frameworks of the country’s administrative and legislative system.
