Samsung Ultra series phones have a specific problem called battery. It may be thought that the battery of these phones meets daily needs or is at an acceptable level, but the fact is that Samsung is far behind compared to its Chinese competitors, and this has caused the value of buying these phones to be questioned if battery life is very important to the user.
But it seems that this situation is about to change. The Galaxy S25 Ultra still adheres to the tradition of using a battery with a capacity of 5,000 mAh; A tradition that first started in 2020 with the introduction of the Galaxy S20 Ultra.
Now there are two signs that give us hope that, if not the Galaxy S26 Ultra, then at least the Ultra phones that come after it will finally break the 5,000mAh mark. Published reports suggest that the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s battery will eventually surpass the 5,000 mAh capacity. This news, even if the increase in battery capacity is not very impressive, is of great strategic importance.
According to these reports, the Galaxy S26 Ultra will probably be equipped with a battery with a capacity of 5,200 mAh. We’re well aware that this increase isn’t a huge improvement in terms of numbers, but this small increase shows that Samsung is finally paying attention to this issue. The 200 mAh increase almost seems insignificant, but technically it means crossing the 5,000 mAh mark.
Many people point to US regulations, which they believe prevent manufacturers from using larger batteries. While this is partially true, we believe that this development could have been facilitated if Samsung and Apple were truly willing to invest and commit resources. The result of this situation is that now Chinese budget phones, in terms of battery, seem to be more attractive options than flagship models of Galaxy and iPhone.
However, it is better to address the second sign; A sign that gives us much more hope. Samsung’s Galaxy A series are the company’s lowest-end budget phones, and they usually perform well in developing markets. According to a new certification, the upcoming Galaxy A07 5G will be equipped with a very large 6,000 mAh battery that has us quite surprised.
Launching a budget phone with a bigger battery than Samsung’s flagships seems a bit strange. However, this isn’t the first time a budget Galaxy phone has received a new upgrade ahead of the S series; For example, we can mention the introduction of the hole punch display in the economic models before the flagships.
Since this certificate was issued from Brazil, it is not possible to comment with certainty about the release of this version in the United States. It is possible that Samsung will launch the Galaxy A07 with a 6,000 mAh battery in some markets and still use a smaller battery version in markets like the US. Such a scenario is entirely possible if the company still finds itself bound to comply with restrictions imposed by US regulations.
The Galaxy A07 5G may serve as an early test for Samsung in the US market so that the company can push the upgrade to its flagships in the coming years, perhaps in 2027 or later.
