The president of the University of Science and Culture and the head of the National Park of Soft Sciences and Technologies and Cultural Industries, on the eve of holding the fourth exhibition of the achievements of knowledge-based and creative cultural industries, said about the decisive role of artificial intelligence in the future of Iran’s culture and art; A technology that he said is not creative, but can reproduce human creativity at a new speed and scale.
artificial intelligence; Not creative, but game changing
Referring to the experience of holding the “Artificial Intelligence and Cinema” conference, Mohammad Hossein Imani Khoshkho explained: In this event, a short film was produced with full use of artificial intelligence tools, from actors and staging to narration in just 15 minutes; According to him, the incident surprised many cinematographers present.
He emphasized: If we are passive in the face of artificial intelligence, this technology will not replace human creativity, but will only be a reflection of it, and for this reason, intelligent exploitation of AI in cultural industries is a necessity.
From top-down policymaking to the “bottom-up” model
According to Imani Khoshkho, 140 active companies in the field of artificial intelligence are present in this period of the exhibition, and among them, 60 top companies have been selected to present their achievements. These companies provide various applications of artificial intelligence in cultural industries, tourism, animation, game making and content production, and some of them have even entered export markets.
Criticizing the common approach of top-down policy-making, he said: In this exhibition, an attempt was made to go the opposite way and extract macro-policies from the real activities of companies and grassroots activists; A model that can be an effective model for the development of technology in the field of culture.
Cultural connection to BRICS and international markets
Head of the National Park of Soft Sciences and Technologies, referring to the international activities of this complex, said: Cultural connection to BRICS is one of the new and important axes, and the responsibility of this connection has been entrusted to the park. Cooperation with the parks of Russia, Serbia, Türkiye, and the UAE, as well as interaction with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, are on the agenda.
According to him, BRICS has been seen mostly from an economic point of view, but it has great capacities in the field of culture, and markets like Russia and India can be serious destinations for the export of Iranian animation and cultural products.
