In rece days, news about the possibility of fixing the Telegram filter by Wednesday of this week has been published in the virtual space, which has been accompanied by widespread reactions from users. Although no official official has yet confirmed the exact time of this action, some sources have announced the approval of the filtering committee to release this messenger.
According to the reports published in the domestic media, the filter removal committee has agreed to remove the restriction of Telegram messenger in its rece meeting after technical and legal reviews. This decision, if finalized, can be implemeed by Wednesday, January 3, 1404, and will allow free access of Iranian users to this popular platform after a long time.
In response to these speculations, Elias Hazrati, the head of the governme information council, announced that plans to remove the filter of some platforms are on the agenda of the governme, but the exact time is not allowed to be announced. He also poied to the widespread use of filter breakers by the people and emphasized that the coinuation of this situation not only shows the ineffectiveness of filtering, but also has put additional pressure on the coury’s communication infrastructure.
Meanwhile, Mustafa Pourdehghan, the represeative of Ardakan, also announced the progress of the negotiations between Iran and Telegram earlier and said that the conditions and commitmes desired by Iran have been accepted by Telegram. He had expressed hope that the removal of this messenger’s filter would be finalized this week.
Despite these statemes, no official body, including the Ministry of Communications or the Supreme Council of Cyber Space, has yet confirmed the exact time or technical details of Telegram’s filter removal.
