The US Navy for the first time fired a suicide drone from a warship to prepare for modern and cheap battles by changing its military strategy.
The US Navy in a historic action for the first time a Suicide drone from the deck of one of its most advanced destroyers to begin a new chapter in naval combat strategies.
This important test conducted by the USS Jack Lucas destroyer shows the Pentagon’s changing approach towards the use of cheap and smart weapons. The UAV that was fired is a “Bolt-M” type manufactured by Andoril, which is capable of vertical flight and can dive towards enemy targets by carrying explosives. This system allows commanders to destroy small, moving targets with deadly accuracy without having to fire million-dollar missiles.
The emergence of suicide drones in the US Navy
Military experts believe that this test is a direct response to recent developments in the Ukraine and Red Sea wars. US Navy which previously had to use expensive standard missiles to deal with aerial threats, now has a more efficient tool with this technology. These suicide birds can patrol the sky for hours and attack the target after the operator detects it.
Use this New weapon Not only does it drastically reduce operating costs, but it also minimizes the risks of close combat for the ship’s crew. The success of this test paves the way for widespread deployment of cruise munitions on all U.S. surface ships so they can deal with swarms of enemy drones in potential future battles.
