Kepler Ieractive and Frictional Games, the developer studio of SOMA and Amnesia series, have officially iroduced the OOS game; A sci-fi mystery thriller set to be released in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
Thomas Grip, creative director and co-founder of Frictional Games, said in a press release:
After more than 10 years of developme, the official iroduction of OOS is really exciting. This is without a doubt our most ambitious project to date in terms of scope, production quality and conceptual ambitions. While SOMA addressed the concept of consciousness, OOS aims to do the same with the nature of reality; A very big and risky goal. However, I feel we have succeeded in creating a work that does exactly that; A game that allows you to directly and actively face the secrets of existence. Personally, I am impatiely waiting to see how the players will react.
This game is told in the renovated lunar hotel called Samsara. You play as Aditi Amani, who is invited to Hotel Samsara by the mysterious legacy of her estranged father, a genius turned prophet. What begins as a search for answers soon turns io something much stranger. Samsara is no ordinary base, but a place where reality is torn apart and truths are buried under layers of deception and ambiguity. As you progress through the story and follow pieces of your father’s past, you must face disturbing revelations about the nature of your existence and your place in it.

The OOS game preses you with a series of terrifying experimes and disturbing encouers that challenge the boundaries of science and ethics. Each experime invites you to peel away another layer of the world as you step closer to the ultimate truth. You will also be confroed with existeial questions that will make you question the soul, suffering, and even reality itself. These tests are not just puzzles, but also stimulating. Your choices will have a reflection in the future and you must be ready to accept the consequences. Foresight is also importa, but even what you think is the best moral choice can lead to devastating results.
At its core, OOS is a deep narrative experience. Creativity and research are your most importa tools. You collect resources, work with complex machinery, and engage with analog systems that require fine-tuning and direct ieraction. Planning plays a key role. There is no single solution either; The goal is to see what you can make of each situation.
Meanwhile, Samsara’s base is a massive, ierconnected labyrih built on the ruins of a failed mining colony and a forgotten luxury hotel. Now this place has become a divided territory between philosophical factions, where science meets faith. You have to step io certain spaces that have their own charm, including laboratories in the heart of magnifice casinos, huge theaters, experimes in drained pools, strange machines in ancie caves and many more. Every corner of Samsara has a story to tell, and in the heart of every story, there is something hidden waiting to be discovered.
