Google released a new update for Virtual Try-on. Previously, you needed to upload high-quality, full-length photos to see the clothes on yourself, but now Google says that a simple selfie is enough to see yourself in new clothes.
Google’s new feature uses the Nano Banana artificial ielligence model (Gemini 2.5 Flash visual version). Just take a selfie of your face. Using this image and the clothing size you choose, artificial ielligence creates a full-length digital model of you that is exactly like your body and face. Now you can see differe clothes virtually on this digital model and make a decision.

Of course, Google has left your hand open. If you don’t feel like using a selfie or don’t like the result, you still have two other options: There’s still the old, more accurate method of uploading a full-length photo, where you upload a full-length photo of yourself. Also, as before, you can choose from a wide range of ready-made models with differe body types (from XXS to 4XL).
In addition to the search departme, Google has invested heavily in its dedicated virtual pro application called Doppl. The app has recely been updated and has a “product discovery feed” similar to Tik Tok or Instagram. In this feed, artificial ielligence-generated videos of real products are displayed and clothes tailored to your personal taste are suggested. The ieresting thing is that almost all the items in this feed can be bought and have a direct link to the store.
