Samsung’s QLED TVs take a new step in combining advanced picture quality and environmeal commitme by utilizing true quaum dots.
Image quality, display of true colors and durability of the screen are among the most importa criteria for users in choosing a high-end TV. In this regard, the new generation of advanced televisions have been released using the real quaum dot layer; A technology that provides the viewer with a more natural and clear visual experience by more accurately reproducing colors, reducing shadows and maiaining transparency at differe angles.
Although QLED TVs are very similar in appearance, the type and quality of technologies used in their structure can make a significa difference in performance and final image quality; An issue that plays a decisive role in the value and superiority of each model.
In this report, we review the working of the real quaum dot layer and the role of Samsung innovations in the developme of a new generation of QLED TVs; A generation that, relying on advanced technologies, has defined new standards in image quality and user viewing experience.
True Quaum Dot on Samsung QLED and Neo QLED TVs
Quaum dots are nanometer semiconductor particles that are used as one of the key technologies in advanced displays and play an importa role in producing pure and realistic colors. By placing these particles in an independe layer and converting the blue background light io the primary colors of red and green, these particles provide the possibility of displaying a wider color spectrum, more accurate corast and more uniform brightness, and lead to a significa improveme of image quality in modern televisions.
QLED displays equipped with this technology can cover the full color volume and reproduce more than one billion colors with high accuracy; A feature that makes the colors appear on the screen exactly according to what the creators of the coe have in mind and creates a true-to-life experience for the viewer.
True quaum dot technology is not only limited to more accurate and natural color reproduction, but also provides consiste quality from any angle by evenly distributing light across the screen; So that the images can be seen even from the sides, bright, transpare and free of shadow or darkness.
To achieve this level of quality, the quaum dot layer in the past was often combined with the eleme cadmium; A heavy and highly toxic metal that, although it has a favorable performance from a technical poi of view, is known as a serious threat to the environme and human health. Studies show that cadmium easily penetrates io soil and water and eers the food chain; A subject that, in case of long-term coact, increases the risk of chronic kidney diseases, respiratory disorders and even some types of cancer.
Using more than a decade of research and developme, coinuous innovation and multiple pates, Samsung has succeeded in removing cadmium from the composition of quaum dots without reducing image quality or brightness. The iroduction of cadmium-free quaum dots technology is not only a turning poi in the display industry, but has become an importa standard in the production of advanced televisions.
By using real cadmium-free quaum dot technology in QLED and Neo QLED TVs, Samsung has significaly improved the quality of color and brightness, and at the same time guaraeed the health of people and the environme. In addition, by using compounds free of organic substances in the structure of quaum dots, the lifespan of the display is increased and TVs can provide stable performance over time without quality loss and without the phenomenon of pixel burn.
While some brands use the term “quaum dot” in their advertisemes, many models either lack the actual quaum dot layer, or the amou is so small that it does not significaly affect the color quality and brightness of the TV. On the other hand, Samsung has been able to receive numerous iernational approvals and create a reliable standard in image quality and stable performance by using real quaum dot technology without cadmium.
For example, Samsung’s QLED and Neo QLED TVs have received the “True Quaum Dot Display” certificate from TÜV Rheinland, Germany; This organization confirmed the high color accuracy and the complete separation of red, green and blue lights in Samsung screens after a detailed examination of the optical spectrum. Also, Switzerland’s SGS Institute has confirmed adherence to sustainable design and the complete elimination of heavy metals from Samsung’s true quaum dot technology by evaluating the manufacturing process.
More than just a technical mark, these certifications show that Samsung’s innovations go hand in hand with environmeal responsibility. The elimination of cadmium is only part of the company’s extensive commitme to sustainable developme, and within the framework of the “Everyday Sustainability” global program, Samsung is trying to minimize the environmeal impact of its products at all stages, from design to consumption. Using recycled materials in ierior parts, designing recyclable packaging and optimizing energy consumption are examples of the company’s practical actions in line with sustainable production.
