Toyota has finally unveiled the final version of the Toyota GR GT3 and its road model. Designed with Le Mans championship in mind, this race car heralds the birth of a new V8-powered street supercar.
Gazoo Racing (Gazoo Racing) division of Toyota company unveiled its latest engineering achievement in a surprising move. The concept car that was introduced last year has now turned into a full-fledged racing car. But the more important news for enthusiasts is the confirmation of the production of the street version of this monster with the possible name GR GT, which is supposed to keep the spirit of classic sports cars alive in the modern age.
Contrary to the current trend of the market, which goes towards electrification, Toyota has used a 4-liter 8-cylinder twin turbo power plant in the chest of this model. This engine, which was developed in cooperation with Yamaha, produces an awesome sound and a power of more than 600 horsepower to shake the bodies of European competitors.
When the race track comes to the street with Toyota GR GT3!
The design of this car with its elongated hood and huge air intakes is reminiscent of legendary models like 2000GT and Supra. The extensive use of carbon fiber and aluminum monocoque chassis has reduced the weight of this car to a minimum. The racing version of Toyota GR GT3 is going to participate in the most prestigious car racing competitions in the world from 2026.
The road version, which is likely to be sold under the Lexus badge or as Toyota’s flagship, will use a mild hybrid system to improve performance. This bold move by Toyota shows that it is still too early to say goodbye to combustion engines, and the Japanese are planning to give the world their final words with the roar of the V8 engine.
