The press conference of “Rayan” iernational programming and artificial ielligence competitions was held with the presence of Hossein Afshin, the preside’s vice preside for science, technology and knowledge-based economy. Explaining the scieific and iernational aspects of these competitions, he announced the participation of 137 couries in the preliminary stage and 100 participas from 25 couries to the final stage and emphasized that this eve has been able to be placed next to the most prestigious iernational competitions in this field in a short period of time.
An eve to promote Iran’s scieific authority
At the beginning of the meeting, Afshin explained the goals of the competition and stated that “Rayan” was designed with the focus of promoting specialized knowledge, strengthening human capital, iernational networking and achieving scieific authority. He added that this round of competitions will be held with the support of the Scieific Vice Preside and hosted by Sharif University of Technology.
Participation of 30 thousand people from 137 couries in the preliminary stage
Referring to the global scope of the competitions, the Preside’s scieific deputy stated:
“The preliminary stage last year was held with the participation of more than 30,000 people from 137 couries of the world, and the selected ones of this stage will travel to Tehran from December 4 to 8 to participate in the final round of the World Finals.”
He described the global reception of these competitions as “unprecedeed” and explained that this level of participation shows the scieific status of the eve and its role in the developme of scieific ieractions.
The final stage with the presence of 100 participas from 25 couries
Afshin stated that in the final stage, about 100 participas from 25 couries will be prese; Couries including the United States, Russia, China, Italy, India, Argeina, Chile, Singapore, Australia, Serbia, Ethiopia, Ukraine, Taiwan, Iran and Kazakhstan.
He emphasized that despite the newness of this eve, “Ryan” has become one of the most prestigious global competitions, along with ICPC and the Iernational Computer Olympiads.

In the field of artificial ielligence: more than 4600 people in the form of 735 teams from 65 couries
He added that this statistic shows the impact and scieific acceptance of the eve at the global level.
90% of foreign participas; Iran’s 10% share
Referring to the geographical composition of the participas, Afshin said:
“More than 90% of the participas of the preliminary stage were from foreign couries.”
He then announced the differe parts of the global partnership by coines:

Europe: 46 couries
Africa: 24 couries
North America: 10 couries
South America: 8 couries
Oceania: 11 couries
He considered the global reception as a sign of the world’s scieific community’s trust in Iran’s capabilities in the field of new technologies.

Special training courses for 3400 people
In the coinuation of the meeting, referring to the side scieific programs of the competitions, Afshin explained that scieific committees were formed with the presence of promine professors and specialized training courses were offered.
He stated:
In the field of artificial ielligence, two courses “Iroduction to machine learning and deep learning” and “Reliability in deep learning” were held, in which more than 3400 people participated.
In the field of programming, the courses “Familiarization with programming competitions” and “Advanced programming” were held with the participation of about 1000 people, and due to the reception, both courses were repeated after six mohs.
Holding competitions in 10 provinces of the coury
In the final part of the meeting, Afshin, referring to the developme of competitive access inside Iran, stated:
“One of our main goals was to create equal opportunities for ehusiasts across the coury; For this reason, 10 national competitions were held in 10 provinces to enable wider participation.
