According to the Deputy CEO of Saipa Automotive Group, hybrid cars are the best option to deal with the challenges of fuel supply and reducing air pollution in the country.
Referring to the latest automobile news, Mehdi Radmanesh, Deputy CEO of Saipa Automotive Group, pointed to the key strategies of this complex in the path to the future of the automobile industry, and emphasized that in the short and medium term, the use of hybrid vehicles is the most efficient solution to overcome the current bottlenecks of the country’s industry and environment. This stance, which is rooted in a detailed analysis of the state of the national infrastructure, shows that the operational obstacles in the field of developing the charging network and the stable supply of electricity required for fully electric vehicles have made the use of hybrid technology a more rational option.
Saipa is on the way to upgrade the engine and produce hybrid cars
Following the President’s warning to automakers about the need to improve the fuel consumption of domestically produced vehicles and the re-emphasis of Dr. Mezikian in a post on the X social network, which pointed to the government’s decisive position in the field of significantly improving the fuel consumption of manufactured vehicles, the issue of optimizing the fuel consumption of engines has once again returned to the spotlight.
In a clear message published on X social network on Monday, the president issued a serious warning to the car manufacturers of the country and stated: “At the meeting of the government board, I warned the car manufacturers that if the engine of the production cars is not modified within a reasonable period of time and the amount of fuel consumption does not reach an acceptable level, the government will be forced to review the policies of currency allocation as well as the process of issuing production licenses.”
In his remarks, the president emphasized that, if necessary, car manufacturers can achieve this goal by purchasing new and up-to-date technologies from around the world, and the government will provide all-round support for this path. In this regard and in explaining the approaches and actions of Saipa Automotive Company, Mehdi Radmanesh, the vice president of Saipa Automotive Group, while pointing to the strategic plans of this group to continuously improve the quality of car engine production, emphasized on the continuous development of platforms and driving forces in this domestic automobile industry.
Radmanesh noted that during the International Conference of Internal Combustion Engines and the Tehran Motor Show, this automaker unveiled its new family of national engines. At the same time as this important event, Saipa also unveiled its new plug-in hybrid car, which has a range of 1,200 km, which shows the company’s strides in providing sustainable and low-consumption solutions.
The vice president of Saipa Group went on to describe the details of the new measures taken with the aim of reducing emissions and optimizing fuel consumption in the company’s products and explained: “Our new engines are designed and manufactured with several key goals; including significant reduction of environmental emissions, maximum optimization of fuel consumption, increase of operational efficiency and improvement of competitiveness in the automobile industry. He also added: “These advanced engines are fully compatible with clean CNG fuel, and this capability can play a very vital role in reducing the amount of gasoline consumption in the country, as well as controlling and improving the air quality of cities.”
8 million old cars are the main cause of air pollution
The deputy CEO of Saipa Automotive Group, referring to issues related to fuel consumption, air pollution problem and especially widespread wear and tear of the transport fleet, cited alarming statistics and stated that according to the latest statistical surveys, currently about 8 million devices Cars in the country are in a state of wear and tear. This huge volume of worn-out cars not only leads to excessive fuel consumption due to the low efficiency of their engines, but also greatly increases the emission of environmental pollutants and is the main cause of air pollution in the big cities and industrial areas of the country.
Radmanesh went on to describe the strategic and long-term plans of Saipa in the field of development and production of new propulsion forces. He announced that Saipa Automotive Group has started a comprehensive project to develop a new generation of engines. These advanced engines will be produced in three versions: naturally aspirated, turbocharged and GDI turbocharged.
Saipa’s 60% self-sufficiency in engine production
Radmanesh further predicted that with the implementation of these projects, Saipa will be able to achieve more than 60% self-sufficiency in the supply of this group of engines, which will be a big step in reducing dependence on foreign countries and strengthening the domestic power of the automobile industry. Saipa’s vice president also explained the schedule and production capacities of these new engines. He announced that according to the plans, the first version of these localized and advanced engines will be installed and operated on Saipa products from next year.
Also, he added that the production lines related to these engines are being completed and launched at a fast pace and it is expected that they will reach 100% full utilization capacity by the end of the year 1405. After reaching this stage, the annual production capacity of these engines will increase to more than 300,000 units, which will not only meet the internal needs of Saipa Group, but will also provide the ability to meet a significant part of the future needs of the country’s automobile industry.
Hybrid cars are the best option for Iran
The Deputy CEO of Saipa Automobile Group stated that even with the participation and cooperation of other domestic automobile manufacturers, the production circulation of these engines can be brought to an economic level, which will ultimately benefit all the activists and stakeholders of the country’s automobile industry. He emphasized that dependence on imported engines has always been one of the main and limiting obstacles in the path of product development and innovation in Saipa Group. But with the start of this process of comprehensive development of driving forces inside the country, this automotive group can respond to the changing and increasing needs of the domestic market with much more power and flexibility.
At the end of his speech, Saipa’s vice president mentioned in detail the plans of Saipa Automobile Group in the field of electrification of production fleet. He stated that currently hybrid cars can be considered as the best and most effective option in the short and medium term to overcome the challenges in the field of fuel supply and reducing air pollution. According to Radmanesh, at the current stage, the country is facing some significant infrastructural limitations in the field of development and expansion of all-electric vehicles.
