The head of Microsoft’s Windows division has announced that this popular operating system is evolving and becoming an agent-oriented operating system.
“Pawan Davolori”, the current head of Microsoft’s Windows division, announced in a post on the X social network that the future of this platform is on the path of evolution and becoming an agent-oriented operating system (Agentic OS). The comments come a few weeks after Microsoft reorganized its Windows department to prepare it to launch an AI-powered version of Windows.
Future versions of Windows will focus more on artificial intelligence
Such a release from the head of Microsoft’s Windows division underscores the company’s commitment to making Windows an agent-centric operating system, a goal the tech giant has hinted at several times in recent months. Of course, this post has also faced some reactions from users on social networks. Many users stated that no one wants an AI version of Windows.

Most of the reactions to the developer’s post were negative, but a few users also had a hopeful view of the future of Windows. Other reactions, however, indicate that no one is interested in seeing the role of artificial intelligence increase in Windows, or at least they do not see Microsoft as the right company to do so.
The credibility and popularity of Windows is in a state of disarray, and Microsoft’s insistence on advancing an AI-based future has made the situation worse. Many users want Windows to be a platform that doesn’t interfere with their work, but in recent years, Windows has become rampant, commercialized, and heavy. Some users have also said that the quality of this platform has unfortunately dropped.
Also these days, with the mandatory Microsoft account for all users and the constant effort of the operating system to force users to use OneDrive and CopyPilot, many users feel that Microsoft is now using Windows as a tool to get more money from users.
