Every year, Apple TV proves to be one of the best online streaming platforms with its new movies and series. Although Apple TV does not have as much content as other platforms such as Netflix, HBO or Disney Plus, its strategy is an example of “simply and selectively…” and in that quality is always preferred over quantity. The success of Apple TV is going to continue this year with the series “Pluribus”. A mysterious series that we don’t know much about, but we’re all excited to see it, and for good reason.
The new series of the creator of “Breaking Bad” is coming
You can name few series that has been able to attract audiences worldwide as much as “Breaking Bad”. Pleuribus is the new creation of Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan. In addition to the original series, Gilligan also produced the prequels to Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, and even the sequel to the franchise, El Camino. He has also shown his abilities in the science-fiction genre before, and you can see Gilligan’s name as a producer and writer for the series “The X-Files” (The X-Files) and the film “Hancock”.
With four Primetime Emmy Awards and two prime-time series that are consistently among the best series of all time, expectations are high for Gilligan’s series; Especially since he is not only the creator of “Pluribos”, but also the showrunner and executive producer of this series.
From behind the camera, let’s go in front of the camera. The main actor of the series “Pluribus” is Ray Seehorn, who you are familiar with if you are a fan of Gilligan’s works. Seehorn played the role of Kim Wexler, a friend of Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) known as Saul Goodman in the series “Better Call Saul”. He is an integral part of the story of the series, which also plays an essential role in the decisions that Saul makes at the end of the story.
Seahorn received two Primetime Emmy Award nominations for his role in “Better Call Saul” and this role is considered the best role of his career so far. He has been working as an actor since the late 90s, appearing in films such as Bad Boys: Ride or Die and for series such as Invincible, My Adventures with Superman, Kite Man: Hell Yeah and Bird and “Win or Lose” has voiced. Fans are excited to see Seehorn back on the TV screen in this project, but apart from him, there are no other prominent actors in the series, and only names such as Carolina Wydra, Carlos Manuel Vesega, Miriam Shore and Samba Schott are mentioned as supporting actors of the series.
Despite the small-name cast (or at least what Apple TV has revealed so far), fortunately, Seehorn seems tailor-made for his role in Pluribus. He, who proved in “Better Call Saul” that he can bring complex issues and mysterious characters to the stage with elegance and ability, in “Pluribos” he deals with a complex and mysterious character again. Given Gilligan’s track record in casting, we can’t imagine that Seehorn couldn’t pull off the role.
What is the story of “Pluribus” series about?
Now that we know who is behind and in front of the camera in the “Pluribus” series, it is good to go to the story of this series, which, despite several teasers and posters, Apple TV has intentionally kept it dumb. Apple TV has shared a short synopsis of the Pluribus series that doesn’t tell us much about the new series, although it’s nice to know. The synopsis of the story is as follows: “Pluribos is an original work of different genres in which the most miserable person on earth must save the world from happiness.”
So far, according to what we got from the teasers and trailers, it seems that “Pluribus” is a science fiction drama and its story focuses on a character named Carol Storka (Ray Seehorn). Carol is a writer of historical romance novels who suddenly finds herself in the middle of an apocalyptic event. But in this apocalypse, the world isn’t overrun by flesh-eating zombies or a mutated virus that turns people into monsters. Instead, this virus makes people happy and optimistic. What does that mean, you ask? The twist is that Carol is the only one who seems to be immune to this phenomenon. He has literally become the most miserable person on the planet!
As of now, Apple TV has promised huge plot twists in “Pluribus” starting with the first episode. It seems that the series is not limited to the science-fiction genre and includes different genres. Some have compared “Pluribos” with the series “Separation” (Severance) and some even with “Silo” (Silo), both of which are popular series on Apple TV. If these comparisons are true, it’s no wonder viewers are counting down the minutes to see Pleuribus.
Why is “Ploribos” one of the most anticipated series of 2025?
Right now, before the airing of the series and without even knowing what “Pluribus” is about, Apple TV has renewed the series for a second season, and this undoubtedly shows that Apple TV and Gilligan have many plans for this series.
Aside from Vince Gilligan’s name being tied to the series, the most important thing that makes Pleuribus one of the most anticipated titles this year is that there is a lot of mystery surrounding the series, except for the brief explanation that came before. In one of the first teasers we’ve seen of Pleuribus, a woman sits in a darkened room picking up donuts while the camera zooms in on a note that reads, “Help yourself.”
In another teaser released earlier this October, we see Carol watching a drone that wants to pick up trash; However, it is difficult to do this. Again, this clip gives us no indication of Carol’s tone, story, or even character. The goal was to create this curiosity and so far the Apple TV technique has worked.
It was in the middle of October that the official teaser was released. In this one-minute video, Carol is talking to someone on the phone who wants to help her through this difficult time. Carol is told that she needs to be patient until they find out exactly what makes her different from the rest. The camera pans to a guy (Peter Bergman) pretending to be the President of the United States, who tells Carol that they’re going to fix him so he can “join us,” and even Carol, like the audience, doesn’t understand what’s going on. In short, it’s like an apocalyptic and cult series mixed with a clever sci-fi twist, and Apple TV doesn’t want to give us more of an explanation.
Apple TV has since released several more teasers and posters. In most of them, we see Carol walking around the city and encountering different people and situations. But none of them have correct and therapeutic dialogue. One of the teasers shows a number that if you call it, you’ll hear a message that sounds like it was left for Carol: “We’re so glad you called. We look forward to you joining us. Dial zero and we will contact you via SMS. If you do what it says, you’ll get the following messages: “Your life is yours,” “Have a will,” and then it’ll ask you to click “yes” to sign up for the Apple TV newsletter. If you agree, you will be told that “they” just want to make you/Carol “happy” and will contact you shortly.
The full Pleuribus trailer was finally released on October 22nd, where we see various Albuquerque locations, once again reminiscent of Breaking Bad. However, even this two-minute trailer does not give us much information about the story of the series.

If you have been impatiently waiting for the airing of this series, the good news is that there is nothing left to wait for. “Ploribos” will be broadcast exclusively on Apple TV on Friday, November 7, 2025 (November 16). This new series has 9 episodes, the first two episodes of which will come to Apple TV simultaneously. The next episodes will be aired every Friday until December 5.
