Guillermo del Toro, one of the famous Hollywood directors and Oscar winner, said in a strange comme that he would rather die than use artificial ielligence in his films.
According to NPR, this well-known Hollywood director has also joined the group of critics of using artificial ielligence in movies. In his latest ierview, he talks about a range of sensitive and coroversial topics, including immigration deteion by Immigration and Customs Enforceme (ICE) in Los Angeles and artificial ielligence.
The use of artificial ielligence in the film industry is increasing
Explaining his views on artificial ielligence, Del Toro said he was more concerned about “natural stupidity” than “artificial ielligence”. The Hollywood director also likened the arde supporters of artificial ielligence to the boldness and ambition of Victor Frankenstein.

But perhaps Del Toro’s most coroversial poi of view is about generative artificial ielligence and its use in cinematic works. Del Toro we on to talk about AI, explaining that his hatred is primarily directed at generative AI, a type of machine learning model that Del Toro has no ierest in and never will.
“I’m 61 years old, and hopefully for the rest of my life I won’t have the slightest ierest in using it,” he added. A few days ago, someone wrote me an email and asked: What is your position on artificial ielligence? And my answer was very short. I said: I prefer to die.
But the use of artificial ielligence in filmmaking also has supporters. James Cameron, the director of films such as Avatar, Terminator and Titanic, has said in a stateme that he will use artificial ielligence in his films and even suggested that the actors of the cinema industry master this technology. Cameron has also joined the board of AI startup Stability AI.
The use of artificial ielligence in the production of cinematic works has increased in rece years, and even Netflix has announced that it will invest more in this technology. Netflix even said this year that it used artificial ielligence to create some scenes in its movies.
